Daily Devotion: April 28
Hebrews 13:8
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever”.
It has been said an alarm clock tells us when to get up, but not why to get up.
During this time of quarantine, I imagine less people are setting alarms to go to work. True we are living in conditions and times none of us could have ever conceived, dreamed or imagined we would be experiencing.
Yet in the midst of it all, God has prepared us for such a “time” as this. We must remember God is, has been, and always will be on the throne. Don’t allow the world, the flesh or the enemy get you “alarmed”! During this pandemic the Lord may be, more than ever, providing an epic time for revival worldwide. We are hearing of testimonies all over the world.
We can either “watch” or at this time GET UP and allow the Lord to use us for His glory. From our home, we can pray and see God moving to awaken people’s hearts, minds and ears to the gospel. We can send notes of encouragement using scripture verses to build up and edify others who are struggling. We can make a call, send a text, or however you choose to encourage someone God has put on your heart. You do not know at this time just how “timely” your message might be.
The scripture says occupy (be busy) until I come (Luke 19:13 KJV). Simple translation, what a great time to be busy about the Lord’s work. More than ever, our heavenly Father has given us great opportunities; not just to get up, but a purpose for why! His purpose hasn't changed, His power is the same, yesterday, today and forever!
